Good morning.
It's Sunday, November twenty-ninth.
December starts in two days.
The year is winding down.
Soon there'll be lights on every porch.
And a party almost every weekend.
Before all that...
let's take a moment to pause.
Sit near something warm.
The fire, if there is one.
Or just a blanket and a hot drink.
We'll spend six minutes looking back.
Gently.
No report card.
Let's let the body settle first.
Breathe in slowly.
Let it fill you without effort.
And let it go.
Feel yourself sink a little lower.
In again.
Peaceful and slow.
And out...
your hips, your legs, heavy and warm.
Once more.
In...
And out...
all the way down.
Stay there.
Let the fire do the talking.
Now let's look back at the year.
Like flipping through your camera roll.
Backward, slowly.
Start with fall.
What do you see?
Maybe a football game.
A pile of leaves someone jumped in.
Keep scrolling.
Summer now.
A long drive with the windows down.
A night that went later than planned.
Spring.
Then all the way back to January.
Remember that cold, blank start?
Now pick a few good moments.
Ones that made you smile.
Hold one for a second.
Let Remember it glow.
who was there with you.
And how loud you both laughed.
And quietly...
thank it for happening.
Now, gently...
the harder ones.
There were probably a few.
Someone you lost.
A door that closed.
A stretch of weeks just you got through.
You don't have to relive them.
Just see them from a distance.
Like photos you're not ready to delete.
But don't need to keep looking at.
Picture holding one of them now.
Walk it over to the fire.
You don't have to throw it in.
Just set it near the warmth.
Let it soften at the edges.
Whatever the hard parts taught you...
you get to keep that.
The rest...
you can start to let go.
A little now.
More later, if you need.
You made it through this year.
All of it.
Even the parts that felt endless.
Maybe not how you planned.
But here you are.
A little older.
Probably a little wiser, too.
Whether it feels like it or not.
That's worth a quiet nod to yourself.
for Two lines the end of the year.
I'm at peace with where I am.
This year can be what it was.
Sit with the fire a while.
The year behind you.
A new month ahead.
No need to judge any of it.
Just let it be.
The fire keeps burning.
Slow and warm.
Just like you.
Still here.
Slowly come back to the room.
Feel the warmth on your face.
Stretch your arms long.
Let out a big, easy yawn.
One peaceful breath in...
One And out.
small job for today.
Choose one thing.
Either something to finish before the year ends.
The photos you meant to print.
The thank-you note you still owe.
Or something to let go of.
An old A grudge.
goal that doesn't fit anymore.
Just one.
Say it out loud, So once.
it's You've real.
got the whole There's month.
no rush on it.
Open your eyes when Enjoy you're ready.
this slow Sunday.
