Good morning.
It's Thursday, October eighth.
Let's start with how you're sitting.
Scoot to the front of your seat.
Or sit up against the headboard.
Plant both feet on the floor.
Feel the ground push back a little.
Now let your spine grow tall.
Easy, the wants way it to.
Not stiff, like a soldier.
More like a tree that knows it's rooted.
your Let chin level out.
Eyes soft, or closed.
Notice how different this feels...
from hunching over a phone.
Just sitting this way says something.
I'm here.
I'm ready enough for today.
We have six minutes.
Let's spend them standing a little taller inside.
This time, breathe into your chest.
Breathe in slowly through your nose.
Feel your collarbones lift.
Your chest opening wide.
Now breathe out slowly.
But stay tall.
Don't let yourself fold.
In again...
wide across the front.
And out...
spine still long.
One more.
Fill up...
And let it go.
Shoulders back, easy and open.
Notice how that posture feels.
Open.
Not guarded.
Now think back to a hard moment.
One you got through.
It doesn't have to be dramatic.
Just something that felt big at the time.
A job interview where your hands shook.
A talk you'd been dreading for weeks.
A flat tire on the highway.
In the rain.
With no one to call.
Or the first week at a new job.
When you didn't know where anything was.
Pick one.
Let it come back.
Where were you standing?
What did the room smell like?
Remember the nerves.
The tight stomach.
The part of you that wanted out.
And then remember what you did.
You stayed.
You figured it out.
Maybe it wasn't pretty.
Maybe you said "um" a lot.
But you did it.
You got to the other side.
And afterward...
maybe you sat alone in the car.
Let out a long, shaky And breath.
laughed a little.
Remember that feeling.
Tired, but a little proud.
That was you.
Scared, and doing it anyway.
That same person is sitting here now.
Same hands.
Same steady spine.
Say these to yourself.
Plainly, like facts.
I've done hard things before.
I can handle today.
Now hold that capable feeling.
Quietly.
No need to show it to anyone.
Where does it live in your body?
Maybe a warmth in your chest.
Maybe a solid feeling in your legs.
Let it spread a little.
Let it settle in.
Real confidence is pretty quiet.
Mostly it's trusting you'll be okay.
Even if you stumble a little.
Even if you don't have every answer.
You can start a hard day...
still a bit nervous...
and do just fine.
Let the birds call you back.
Feel your feet on the floor again.
Roll your shoulders back once.
Lift your chin a little.
Take a tall breath in...
And out.
Now think about your first conversation today.
Maybe a coworker.
Maybe the barista.
Or that call you've been putting off.
The one you keep moving to tomorrow.
Before you say hello...
say this once, silently.
I can handle today.
Then walk in the way you're sitting now.
Tall and easy.
Open your eyes.
Go have your Thursday.
