To begin this morning meditation, sit up if you can. Let the day wait a few minutes.
You do not have to be fully awake yet. Meet the body as it is.
When you are ready, you may softly close your eyes.
Feel the first contacts of morning: the seat, the air, the light through closed lids.
What is the mood of this morning, before you name it as good or bad?
Breathe in as if you were arriving. Breathe out as if you were setting the night down.
The mind may be listing tasks. You can hear the list without standing up into it.
This hour did not start with the phone. It started when you woke.
Soften the face you will wear for other people. Begin with your own.
Where in the body is the day already hurrying? Throat? Belly? Hands?
Give that place one slower breath. Not to fix it. To include it in the morning.
And let yourself be here, before you become useful.
Continue with the breath as a quiet beginning, not a performance.
Inhale: I am in this body. Exhale: I do not have to rush the first minute.
What would a kind start look like — one slower action, one true pause?
You can choose that without becoming a different person overnight.
The day can begin from the inside. Presence first. Then movement.
If the mind has run into noon already, escort it back to this breath, this seat.
Feel the spine lengthen a little, as if morning were arriving through the bones.
You are allowed to enter the day without bracing for it.
Let this be the start: awake enough, kind enough, here.
Carry that into the first standing.
Now let your attention travel back. Feel both feet on the floor. Press them down. You are here.
Open your eyes when you are ready, and take this morning with you.
