5 Minute Meditation for Overthinking
A 5 minute daytime meditation for overthinking. The mind is running laps. Sit down and refuse the stadium. Give intelligence a job: feel the breath. Each loop labeled thinking, returned. Dull, effective, kind.
Before you begin
After the track, do the next physical thing — water, walk, window — before the next mental thing.

To begin this overthinking meditation, sit in daytime. Unhooking, not solving.
Whatever that looks like for you.
When your body feels ready, you may softly close your eyes.
Turn from next mental thing toward next physical thing.
First, feel contact — seat, feet, hands. That is the first unhook.
Overthinking wants another loop. The body offers a door already open.
Name one loop if you wish. Put it down beside the chair. Do not finish it.
What is the next physical thing — breath, jaw, weight of hands?
Postpone the puzzle. You cannot postpone the body.
This is a daytime unhook. Not night escape. A choice in ordinary light.
If the loop starts, meet the next physical fact before the next thought.
Feet before forecast. Breath before debate. That order is practice.
Feel the next exhale leave. Let thinking wait in the hall.
What else is physical now, that the loop was talking over?
Just unhook. Allow the unfinished. No verdict required.
Keeping the eyes closed, include the room. Daylight exists.
You do not have to win the argument to leave it.
Nothing to solve in this minute. There is something to feel.
If the mind grabs the loop, okay. Next physical thing, then next.
You let the thinking wait. Including yourself unfinished.
Now let attention travel back — shoulders, fingers, feet on floor.
Open your eyes. Next physical thing before next mental thing.
