5 Minute Meditation for Forgiveness
A 5 minute guided meditation for forgiveness that is not a verdict that what happened was fine. It is a decision to stop drinking the poison twice. Bring the story to the edge of the mind, not the center. Loosen the knot. If you cannot forgive yet, forgive yourself for that. That is still the work.
Before you begin
Sit. You do not owe anyone a performance of peace. You owe yourself a little more air.

To begin this forgiveness meditation, sit without a verdict. Not ready is allowed.
Whatever that looks like for you.
When your body feels ready, you may softly close your eyes.
Turn toward what you have been carrying. Stop drinking twice.
First, notice the body: jaw, chest, the place that still argues.
Forgiveness here does not mean saying it was fine. Put the cup down.
Who have you been rehearsing? Name it without reopening the case.
What is it like to stop swallowing the same hour again?
You can refuse the second sip without calling the first water.
Not ready is an honest place. It is allowed to be here.
If heat is still in the body, do not call it peace. Just stop pouring.
Putting the poison down is already kindness. It needs no speech.
Feel the cup leave the hand — even if the story stays.
What else do you notice, now you are not drinking it twice?
Observe. Allow. No rewrite of the past. Let this stay unfinished.
Keeping the eyes closed, include the room. You are here, not replay.
If you are not ready to forgive, still stop rehearsing. Enough today.
There is nothing you must bless. There is something to stop swallowing.
If the mind picks the cup up, that is okay. Set it down again.
You let this be unfinished. Including yourself.
Now let attention travel back — shoulders, fingers — cup still down.
Take this unforced pause with you as you open your eyes.
