Good morning.
It's Friday, October second.
You made it to Friday.
However the week went...
it's almost done.
Maybe it was a good week.
Maybe it was a long one.
A few days you'd rather not repeat.
Either way, you're Before here.
you pick up your phone...
before the group chat...
give yourself six minutes first.
Get comfortable.
Lean back against the pillows.
Or sit with your feet on Let the floor.
your hands rest.
Wherever they land is fine.
Let's start with a few easy breaths.
Nothing fancy.
Breathe in through your nose...
And let it out with a soft sigh.
Like sitting down after a long day.
In again...
a little deeper.
And out...
with that same sigh.
Once more.
In...
And out...
let your jaw loosen.
Good.
Now let the breath do what it wants.
No counting.
Now we'll notice a few good things.
Not big things.
Not the stuff you'd post online.
Just ordinary stuff...
the kind you usually walk right past.
Start with something close.
The bed you slept in.
The pillow that finally squashed...
into just the shape you like.
Somebody worked hard for that bed.
Maybe it was you.
All those long weeks.
That's worth a quiet thank you.
Here's a second one.
Warm water.
The first hot shower of the day.
Or the mug warming your You hands.
turn a handle.
And there it is.
Every single morning.
Let yourself feel glad about that.
Even for a Nobody second.
throws a party for hot water.
Maybe somebody should.
And now a third.
A voice you love.
Maybe it's your mom.
Or an old friend...
who always picks up on the second ring.
Or someone you haven't called in a while.
Hear their voice for The a moment.
way they say your name.
The way they laugh.
Notice your chest.
Maybe it gets a little warmer.
Maybe your face softens on its own.
That warmth is gratitude.
It doesn't need to be a speech.
Or a neat journal page.
Sometimes it's just this.
A feeling, sitting quietly in you.
And if it's hard to find today...
that's okay too.
Some mornings are easier than others.
Even one small thing counts.
Say these quietly to yourself.
If they feel I true.
have enough to be thankful for.
Today can be ordinary and still good.
Stay with that warm spot.
You don't have to add anything.
Just let it be Quiet there.
and small.
Like sunlight on a kitchen It floor.
doesn't have It to grow.
just gets to stay awhile.
If your mind drifts to your to-do list...
let it.
Then come back to the warm spot.
It's still there.
Let the birds get a little louder.
Let the room come back.
Roll your shoulders.
Give yourself a good stretch.
The kind that makes you yawn.
Take one more breath in...
And Here's out.
your one thing for Before today.
lunch...
send someone a short thank-you text.
Just a line It or two.
doesn't have to be perfect.
Something hey, like...
I was thinking about you.
I'm really glad you're around.
It takes thirty seconds.
It'll probably make their Friday.
Let your eyes open slowly.
Happy Friday.
