Hi.
It's the last day of November.
One month left in the year.
Let's sit with that for a moment.
Six minutes, before December starts.
Get comfortable.
Let your hands rest.
Let your jaw loosen.
Breathe in slowly...
And out...
even slower.
Picture the snow falling.
Soft.
Silent.
Covering the ground a little at a time.
Let the whole year come to mind.
Not in order.
Just whatever floats up first.
So what came up?
For a lot of us...
it's the list of what didn't happen.
The goals you wrote down in January.
The gym membership you barely used.
The trip you kept putting off.
The closet you swore you'd clean out.
It's still full.
Door closed.
Maybe there's a bigger one there in too.
A job you meant to leave.
A person you meant to call.
And now the year is almost over.
And that list feels loud.
Notice where you feel it.
Maybe a pressure in your chest.
Maybe a tired, sinking feeling.
Like you're behind.
Like everyone else did more.
That pressure is so common in late fall.
The calendar runs of out pages.
And our minds start keeping score.
But that list only tells half the story.
It leaves out everything you did do.
So let's look at the other half.
Think of something you got through this year.
Something hard.
Maybe a breakup, or a move.
Or a rough stretch at work...
that went on way too long.
Think how it felt in the middle.
Like it might never let up.
You're still here.
You made it to the other side.
Let that count.
Now think of something you learned.
It can be small.
Maybe how to make a decent soup.
Or that one friend always shows up.
That's yours now.
You'll carry it into next year.
Let that count too.
And one more.
A moment you're glad you were there for.
A long talk on a porch in July.
Or a morning with the light just right.
Hold that one for a second.
Let it warm you.
You didn't plan that moment.
It wasn't on any list.
But it might be the best part.
The part you'll remember in ten years.
Lists can't hold moments like that.
That's why the list feels so thin.
It's missing the good stuff.
Put those three together.
Something you got through.
Something you learned.
A moment you were there for.
That's a year.
A real one.
Lived by a real person.
It doesn't have to look impressive.
It just has to be yours.
And it was.
You did enough.
Stay here a moment.
In the feeling of enough.
Let the snow keep falling.
Covering the unfinished list.
Softening its edges.
Breathe in...
And out...
Nothing left to prove this year.
You can just be here.
The unfinished things aren't failures.
Some just weren't meant for Some this year.
can come with you into the next.
And some you can let go of.
Quietly.
No ceremony needed.
Back Alright.
to the room, slowly.
Shrug your shoulders up, then drop them.
Take in the room around you.
One slow breath in...
And Here's out.
your next Find step.
a sticky note.
Write one gentle intention for Not December.
a resolution.
Not a big Something goal.
kind.
Like...
call my grandma more.
Or...
go to bed before midnight.
Stick it where you'll see it.
The bathroom mirror.
Or your laptop.
Somewhere you look every morning.
One One month.
gentle thing.
Go write it down now.
