To begin this beginner breathing, you already qualify. Noticing thought is the practice.
Whatever that looks like for you.
When your body feels ready, you may softly close your eyes.
You do not need a blank mind. You need a kind return.
First, feel one breath as it is — not as it should be.
When a thought arrives, that noticing is the practice. You did not fail. You began.
Where do you feel the breath most easily — nose, chest, belly?
Stay with that place. When thought comes, name it "thought," and come back.
You already belong here. There is no entrance exam.
A wandering mind is not broken practice. It is a mind practicing.
If you have judged yourself, thank the judge, and return to one breath.
This is how it is done. Notice. Return. That is the whole skill.
Feel the next inhale arrive without you fetching it.
What do you notice now that trying has loosened?
Just observe. Allow. No grade. Letting the breath be ordinary.
Keeping the eyes closed, include the room. You can breathe here too.
If thought comes again, smile at the noticing. That smile is the practice.
There is nothing to empty. There is something to meet.
If you feel behind, you are not. Beginners are not late.
You let the breath be enough. Including yourself.
Now let attention travel back — shoulders, fingers, the chair.
Take this kind return with you, as you slowly open your eyes.
