If you're here, something probably hurts.
I'm Let's sorry.
just sit with it for a bit, together.
You can sit, or lie down, or curl up under a blanket.
Whatever your body wants right now.
You don't have to be over it.
You don't have to understand it yet For either.
the next six you're minutes, allowed to feel exactly how you If feel.
tears come, let If them.
nothing comes and you just feel that's numb, allowed Hearts too.
are strange like Some that.
days they ache, some days they go quiet for a Let's while.
breathe Heartbreak a little.
tends to make the breath short and tight, high up in the chest.
Breathe in slowly through your as nose...
far down as it'll go.
And let it out through your mouth.
Slow.
Maybe a sigh.
Again.
And out...
letting your shoulders drop a little.
Now place one hand on the middle of your chest.
If you like, rest the other hand on top.
Feel the warmth of your own palm there.
The small weight of it.
It might feel a little silly.
Stay anyway.
Under your hand, your heart is still beating.
Even now.
Even with all of this.
It keeps going, quietly.
Breathe in, and feel your chest press gently into your hand.
Breathe out, and let your hand hold you, the way you'd hold a friend
who was crying.
If your mind keeps things...
replaying what they said, what you should have said...
that's so normal.
Just notice it,
and come back to the warmth of your hand.
Let them come to mind for a moment.
Only as much as feels okay.
You can keep them at a distance.
There was something good in it.
Maybe a lot.
A laugh you shared.
A time you felt really seen.
You can thank that part, quietly.
And there was an ending.
That's real too, even if part of you keeps hoping it isn't.
Loving what was good doesn't mean you have keep to holding on to it.
Breathe in...
holding both of those things.
Breathe out...
and loosen your grip, just a little.
Getting over someone doesn't happen in one big moment.
It happens in lots of small ones, like this.
All the care you gave them...
the patience, the way you remembered the little things about it them...
didn't go with them when they left.
It's still in you.
So turn some of it around, toward Just yourself.
for tonight,
or just for Try now.
saying this, silently.
I'm hurting,
and I'm still worth caring for.
I don't have to rush I this.
can miss them and still let this I'm end.
allowed to be gentle with myself.
If that feels a bit awkward, it usually does at first.
Say You'd it anyway.
say these things to a friend without thinking twice.
You deserve to hear them too,
even if the only person saying them right now
is you.
Rest here with your hand on your heart.
Listen to the rain for a while.
You don't need to fix anything right now, or decide anything.
Healing mostly happens slowly, in the background, while you're busy living.
You don't have to watch it happen.
Before we finish,
think of one small kind thing you could do for yourself tomorrow.
Something tiny.
A walk around the block, or a proper breakfast instead of skipping it.
Pick one, and keep it small enough that you'll actually do it.
Now let your hands rest in your lap.
Wiggle your fingers.
Take one more slow breath in...
And out.
Open your eyes when you're ready.
It still hurts, probably.
But you were kind to yourself for six minutes,
and that's a real start.
