To begin this sleep meditation, lie down and let the bed take your weight.
Whatever that looks like for you.
When the body feels ready, you may softly close your eyes.
With your eyes closed, tell the night: we are off duty.
First, simply noticing the heaviness of the body.
The pillow. The sheets. Gravity doing all the holding.
What else do you notice in this dark?
What is it like to stop hunting sleep?
Rest is the invitation. Sleep is only a guest.
You do not need to catch it. Rest already counts.
Soften the jaw. Soften the shoulders. Soften the belly.
And let the day be finished.
Continue now with a longer, slower exhale.
If thoughts keep talking, let them be radio in another house.
What do you notice as the breath lengthens?
Just rest. Accept. Allow. No chasing.
Keeping your eyes closed, include the dark around the body.
The room can hold you while you do nothing.
There is nothing left to do. Nothing to win.
If the mind hunts sleep, that is okay. Return to rest.
Stay with the body, the breath, and this permission to stop.
You let rest be enough. Including yourself.
Stay here. Do not open the eyes into the day.
If you are already drifting, do not come back. Go.
